When it comes down to it, it has no personality of its own - just an amalgam of personalities filtered through his innocence about the world and lack of any experiences of his own. For all we know, if Von Reichter rather than Jose was Terra's base essence, it could've turned out differently.

Speaking of which...

José encodes his own essence into Terra, but when the boy is unimpressed at it being an innocent child

So having Jose's essence made it innocent and childlike? That is... interesting. It is impressively done.

I also like how Lucas is being played, not just as a love interest, but as someone who is very much a hero in his own right as he'll dive into danger without hesitation.

Doesn't he have some papers to grade or something?Tony Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03127116586453811407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4088555461299761566.post-29757189766402917282015-05-17T16:56:19.392-07:002015-05-17T16:56:19.392-07:00I like a good monster throw down as much as the ne...I like a good monster throw down as much as the next guy, and we get some of that here, but it's a nice twist to see our heroine ultimately defeat the bad guys through acts of compassion and self sacrifice instead of a punch, rocket, or blazing sword. Yeah, it's all a tad corny and a whole bunch of simplistic, but it's also sincere and optimistic.

That's an excellent point I hadn't considered. As for whether or not this is what cost the show viewers, I don't know, as Batman TAS had many great moments where it ended on poignant emotion, and that is a frequent tool in the action story-telling of anime.

I don't know that we really need to see a teacher, buff though he may be, fighting all manor of creature beside his would be love interest.

I love it, but then I've always been a fan of the She-Hulk and Wyatt Wingfoot pairing. :)NoelCThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01744014386233716741noreply@blogger.com
